The Higher Institute of Nursing at Ain Shams University was established in 1980 AD, which was transformed in 2000 AD into the Faculty of Nursing.

The Faculty of Nursing seeks to achieve leadership locally and excellence regionally and internationally in nursing education, scientific research and community service.

It also seeks, since its inception, to develop the nursing profession and to raise the health level in Egypt through the programs it offers and by graduating qualified cadres capable of taking responsibility and decision-making.

The faculty has been accredited three consecutive times by the National Authority for Education Quality Assurance and Accreditation, the last of which was on June 21, 2023.

The Faculty of Nursing is committed to providing an advanced academic climate to prepare nursing cadres capable of innovation, creative thinking and leadership, keeping pace with the local and regional levels in research, academics, administration and professionalism. It is characterized by efficient performance and commitment to professional ethics, and enables the graduate to deal with modern technology to provide distinguished service to society, develop the environment, and improve educational, research and service practices, which enhances competition in the local and regional labor market.
