Ain Shams University honors 33 of its international students after obtaining second place at the level of Egyptian universities

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini University President and Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saud, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs honored the university delegation participating in the first sports forum for international students, which was hosted by the Suez Canal University from February 1 to 4, under the auspices of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

This came in the presence of Dr. Abdul Aziz Suleiman, Director of the University’s Student Welfare Unit, and the supervisor of the forum, Mr. Mohamed Al-Sharkawi, Acting Director General of the General Administration of Youth Welfare, Mr. Ibrahim Saeed, supervisor of the university cities, Mrs. Nahla, director of the Department of Sports Activity, Captain Mohamed Lotfy and Mrs. Ola from the Department of Sports Activity at the university.

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, students obtained 9 medals, which varied between gold, silver and bronze, in which they ranked second at the level of Egyptian universities with a slight difference and the number of medals equal to the first place owners at the level of Egyptian universities, in addition to receiving the distinguished participation shield, praising their distinguished level In the various sports that they participated in, which included basketball, running, swimming, table tennis and running.

He affirmed the support of the entire university administration for them and providing all means of care, including training, sports equipment and supplies, and a nutrition system, so that they can continue to excel in sport in their respective fields. He promised the university to strive to provide a place to host international students equipped at the highest level.

Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saud said that the hall covered by the General Administration of Youth Welfare as well as the gym had been renewed and confirmed, stressing that the university would witness a qualitative shift during the upcoming period in the stadiums and sports equipment, where the gym in the Faculty of Girls and the city is currently being provided to students with the latest sports equipment in addition to providing open gym on campus with more devices.

During the meeting, it was also emphasized that all the stadiums in all colleges should be used by all students at any time, in order to achieve maximum benefit from the available capabilities and help students in exercising sports activity throughout the day.

He pointed out that the participation of students in such forums is a golden opportunity to exchange experiences and knowledge with their counterparts from different university students, and it is also an opportunity to get to know Egypt in all its branches, making them ambassadors in their home countries to Egypt and to the university.

It was also agreed to organize educational visits and trips for students of various quarters and landmarks of Egypt with their fellow Egyptian students, thus opening the horizons of intellectual and cultural convergence between them.

During the meeting, in which the students opened their hearts to the President of the University and the Vice President of the University, the students expressed their happiness with this honor and their pride in belonging to one of the most prestigious Egyptian universities, stressing their endeavors to continue excellence and sporting achievement, and they also affirmed their pride in visiting national projects that are taking place on the land of Egypt, where They visited the tunnels of the New Suez Canal, New Ismailia City and New Suez. They also discussed several topics related to them regarding residency, their educational requirements and other academic affairs.

It is noteworthy that the university delegation included foreign students from Afghanistan, Nepal, Mongolia and South Sudan.
