The Prime Minister toured all departments of the hospital to learn about his various equipment, and listened to an explanation about the field hospital, from the Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, who indicated that the Hospital Administration at Ain Shams University had established the field hospital to treat various conditions, including receiving Those suspected of developing the new coronavirus, as well as providing full treatment according to the approved protocols for treatment at the Ministry of Health.

During his visit to the field hospital, Dr. Mustafa Madbouly directed an increase in the number of university hospitals that provide treatment services for "Corona" patients in the Greater Cairo governorates, especially as they are the most affected governorates, indicating the need to intensify efforts at this delicate stage to provide good service to citizens.

The Minister indicated that the field hospital is located on an area of 4,600 square meters, with a total number of beds of about 200 beds, including 165 residency beds, 11 beds for intensive care and isolation, 8 beds for sorting, and the remaining beds to serve medical staff and workers, and was implemented at a cost of about 28 million pounds And the hospital was established within 15 days, pointing out that one of the national furniture manufacturers, Mobica, has donated non-medical furniture to all hospital rooms, offices, and nursing departments.

On the structural aspects of the field hospital, the President of Ain Shams University, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Matini, explained that the field hospital was implemented in accordance with the latest international medical standards in this field, and the construction included the implementation of sanitation, feeding and electrical networks within plastic pipes, the implementation of drinking water tanks, and tanks Sewage collection, sodium hypochlorite injection station to inject water before drainage onto the network, and the hospital's metal structure was constructed of aluminum, and it was covered with a coating of "Teflon" that is resistant to fire, wind, and rain, and the internal partitioning of the walls of rooms, factories, and bathrooms was carried out from tin sheets Injected by "foam", and the hospital also has an "oxygen" station connected to the form of pipes inside the hospital linked to the feeding units next to each bed, and groups of mobile suction units and cylinders from the air, and the hospital was provided with emergency batteries for vital devices "capacity" 40 kV per unit And lighting lights were installed from the "LED" on the hospital roof, and providing a fire car from the civil protection on an ongoing basis, in addition to providing two individuals from the civil protection to hospitals as Continuous around the clock with the hospital being equipped with a sufficient number of mobile fire extinguishers.

Regarding the contribution of the “Viva Egypt Fund” to the establishment of the field hospital at Ain Shams University, it has been pointed out that the fund provided 15 devices for artificial respiration, 1,000 isolation suits for medical personnel, in addition to 10,000 regular masks, 500 KN masks, and about 500 The muzzle "N95", as well as the quantities of disinfectants required for sterilization operations, amount to approximately 510 disinfectant packages.

During the inspection, the Prime Minister listened to a presentation about Ain Shams University and its expansion, as well as the university's contribution to efforts to combat the emerging Corona virus.

Where the Minister of Higher Education presented the health and medical services provided by Ain Shams University Hospitals in various specialties, where Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El Meteni, President of Ain Shams University, indicated that the Demerdash Hospital was established since 1931, and includes 14 medical centers, in addition to a research center The hospital has 2430 beds, and more than 1.2 million patients visit it annually to receive health services from outpatient or emergency clinics or dialysis units.

The President of the University added that Ain Shams University Specialist Hospital, which was established in 1984, has 886 beds, and more than 370,000 patients visit it annually. There is also Ain Shams University Hospital in Transit, which was created in 2017, and includes 190 beds, and is frequented by More than 112 thousand patients annually to receive health services in various specialties.

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, talked about the important role played by Ain Shams University and its hospitals in facing the "Corona" crisis in the framework of a plan implemented by the university to rehabilitate its hospitals to deal with this crisis, explaining in this regard that the university has undertaken like other Egyptian universities A special role in this framework, as it equipped Ain Shams Specialized Hospital in Obour City as an isolation hospital for simple positive cases, in addition to preparing the university city for students, in cooperation with the armed forces as a temporary isolation hospital, for cases that did not show symptoms of the disease, with a capacity of 2389 beds .

For his part, the President of Ain Shams University indicated that the university dormitory was also equipped for female students; To receive stranded citizens returning from various countries, with a capacity of 815 beds, and the university city began to receive them as of May 20, and a field hospital was also equipped on the university campus, within the framework of implementing the state plan to provide medical facilities for use in case of necessity as hospitals for the treatment of people living with Corona, at the same time, the emergency hospital was equipped with Demerdash as an isolation hospital that is added to other isolation hospitals that have been prepared, so that it is ready for use in case of need.

It is worth noting that Ain Shams University is the fourth oldest Egyptian university after the universities of Al-Azhar, Cairo, and Alexandria, and was founded in July 1950, and since its establishment, Ain Shams University has played a distinct academic, application and societal role, as one of the most important and best institutions of higher education, scientific research and technology, not only in Egypt, but in the Arab region, the Middle East, and Africa in general.
