Ain Shams University opens the closing session of the International Design Studio in the presence of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, and the Vice-Presidents of the University opened the closing session of the International Design Studio, which includes Ain Shams University from Egypt, Clemson University from the United States of America and Huajing University of Agriculture in the People's Republic of China. Under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, with the latest video conference technology, and in the presence of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Muhammad Ayman Ashour, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for University Affairs, and a number of professors and students from the three universities. Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar praised the International Design Studio, which is the product of a first-of-its-kind tripartite agreement between the three universities led by Ain Shams University, as the studio is considered a breakthrough in the field of higher education because it relies on multiple concepts of education, including student exchange, e-learning and hybrid education, which is what is An early step for what the world is currently doing as repercussions for the emergence of the new Corona virus and the digital transformation. His Excellency mentioned the role of the Ministry of Higher Education in supporting the new concept of education and digital transformation, considering it the future of education across the world. Professor Dr. Ayman Ashour, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Universities Affairs, stated that the International Design Studio at the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University is one of the fruits of joint international cooperation that has lasted for more than thirteen years in which Egyptian architecture professors at Ain Shams University made a great effort in supporting the vision of international education. And headed by Dr. Yasser Mansour, the former head of the architecture department and one of the most important international arbitrators in the field of architecture, who took over the management of the technical session of the studio today. The international design studio has made a number of achievements during the past years, through the participation of students in many international projects, which are The most important of these are the development of Luxor, the development of Nazlet El-Samman and the Maspero Triangle, and its students were honored at the Al-Ahram Real Estate Exhibition in 2016.

Dr. Gao Xi, President of Huazang University of Agriculture, spoke of his pride in the experience of the international design studio, which affected students and formed new concepts in their minds through their participation with their peers from other countries. Dr. Robert Jones, President of Clemson University, expressed his great happiness with his university’s participation in the International Design Studio, and explained that this experience is a pioneering experience in the field of education.

She indicated Prof. Dr. Shahira Samir, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Director of International Relations at the University, to the full support provided by the Egyptian government and the administration of Ain Shams University for the success of the studio's march over several years, as the university provides critical and logistical support to students and professors for their honorable representation in the United States of America, and hosted Major General Ahmed Abdullah, the former governor of the Red Sea, international students under the auspices of the governorate in a reception that puts Egypt in its right international position.

Dr. Mustafa Refaat, Director of International Inter-Programs at Ain Shams Engineering, indicated that the university is keen to provide all financial, logistical and technological support works to support the continuation of the studio's work despite the difficulties encountered by the educational process due to the emergence of the new Corona virus.

Dr. Ayman Farid Hamza, Director of the International Design Studio at the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, said that the International Design Studio is attended by students of the College of Engineering in the three universities in solving and developing any problems within their countries, provided that they are national projects, indicating that the last projects of the International Design Studio were in the United States of America in the city Charleston, with the support of the US government represented by the city municipality, to study the possibility of solving the problem of high water levels in the city through architectural, urban and mechanical design, and many professors from different engineering disciplines participated in the project to support students, which was discussed in the United States of America in February 2019.

For his part, Dr. Ahmed Khaled, the studio coordinator, said that the International Design Studio is distinguished by providing the opportunity for the youth of the Auxiliary Body to participate in international education opportunities, and many members of the assisting body participated in this, headed by Engineer Mai Adel, Eng. Nada Tariq and Engineer Moamen Nasser, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Diaa Khalil Ameed. Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, which is keen to provide these opportunities for the youth of the university's assisting body, as they are the nucleus of the future of the university

It is noteworthy that the International Design Studio project is the first of its kind in the development of cities, and the number of students who design 30 Egyptian students, 20 Americans and 30 Chinese students are chosen in a very complex practical way by passing several tests to join the team founded by Prof. Dr. Ayman Ashour, Dean of the College Former engineering and current Deputy Minister of Higher Education for University Affairs who has served as an international outreach supporter for nearly 10 years.
