The Vice-President of the University and the Ambassador of Portugal discuss ways of cooperation to establish a branch of the Camwish Institute at the university

Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saud, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Education and Student Affairs, met with Ambassador Manuela Franco, Ambassador of the Portuguese Republic to the Arab Republic of Egypt, at the headquarters of the Saffron Palace at the university in the presence of Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of Faculty of Al-Alsun, Ain Shams University, and during the meeting, the two sides reviewed the learning mechanisms to be applied in the Portuguese Language Department at Al-Alsun, in light of the emerging Corona virus COVID-19 crisis.

The establishment of a branch of the Camwish Institute at Ain Shams University was also discussed. With the aim of supporting the teaching of free courses in the Portuguese language, the dissemination of Portuguese culture, and the exchange of teaching and research experiences.

This was followed by the visit of His Excellency the Ambassador to Faculty of Al-Alsun, where she and Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad - Dean of the Faculty, with the teaching staff in the Portuguese Language Department, which is the first of its kind at the level of Egyptian government universities and is taught by a group of professors from Ain Shams University and the University of Porto Portuguese.

During the meeting, which included a group of elites from the Egyptian and Portuguese sides, it was emphasized to support online communication channels with the Portuguese side to teach Portuguese to students of the department in light of the repercussions of the COVID-19 virus crisis. The two sides also confirmed support for the exchange of professors and students through grants from the Authority. Erasmus of the European Union, as well as enhancing the quality of the program offered in cooperation with the College of Al-Alsun by submitting periodic reports on the study plan and course descriptions, as well as supporting cultural activities and research and academic relations between the two parties, as well as working to establish a joint scientific degree upon first graduation A batch from the department and the need to prepare qualified cadres to teach.

The meeting was followed by a tour of the Portuguese ambassador to the Faculty of Al-Alsun, the halls for teaching in the Portuguese department, and the teaching of interpretation laboratories.

Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saud presented the university's emblem to the ambassador, in appreciation of the efforts made to support academic relations between the two countries, appreciating the fruitful cooperation ties between Egypt and Portugal in all fields, and Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad donated the shield of the Faculty of Al-Alsun in appreciation of the cooperation between the two sides.
