President of the Farouk El-Baz Foundation for Building the Scholars of Tomorrow, in the presence of Dr. Islam Saeed, Director of the Center for Adult Education at Ain Shams University, Mr. Suhail Hamza, Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, signed a cooperation protocol between the three bodies, which stipulated coordination in setting the general policy and determining the method of work in order to achieve the desired goals. The literacy project, as well as the supervision and evaluation processes for what is being implemented, and the preparation of a quarterly report to measure the extent of project implementation.
Ain Shams University undertakes field surveys, counting illiterates in the governorate, and preparing lists of students in the age group of 16 years and over. The university also gives university youth participating in the project some incentives according to the capabilities available in each university, as stated in the protocol of the Supreme Council of Universities.
In addition to activating the role of the adult education unit to communicate between the authority and the university and holding training courses to train university youth, raise the efficiency of workers in the field of illiteracy eradication and methods of adult education, follow up on those who are illiterate and help them enroll in regular education or help enroll them in reinforcement classes for middle school subjects.
