Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Muhammad Fathy Saud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Tamer Rady, Advisor to the Vice President for Student Activities, Ain Shams University presented the theatrical performance "Shelter", taken from the performance of the rock bottom by Maxim Gorky, on Wednesday and Thursday 9/10 September at the theater Al-Gomhoria, affiliated to the Egyptian Opera House, within the activities of the Cairo International Festival of Experimental Theater. It is worth noting that Ain El Shams University is the only university of the Egyptian universities to participate in the experimental festival, after the offer won the acceptance of the Watch Committee, which watched many shows by professionals and universities. Egyptian and foreign troupes of professionals from the Egyptian Ministry of Culture and the Higher Institute for Dramatic Arts participated in the festival, as well as free and professional bands from many countries such as Germany, France, Spain, Brazil, India, and Azerbaijan.
The show won the admiration of the jury and the fans, as the show witnessed an unparalleled crowd turnout despite the precautions applied, which led to the closing of the theater doors early on the two days of the show.
And the theatrical show "The Shelter" directed by student Hussam Saeed, lighting by Mahmoud Tantawi, music preparation for student Hassan Khaled, clothes of student Hajar Kamal, makeup of student Nadine Ashraf, decor of student Mahmoud Salah and two directors of executives of student Muhammad Abdel Razek and student Osama Mhanna, with the participation of more than 25 actors and actresses from University students.
The show took place under the supervision of Mr. Muhammad Al-Sharqawi, Director of the General Administration of Youth Welfare, Mr. Mustafa Issa, Director of the Technical Activity Department at the General Administration of Youth Welfare, and Mr. Hind Hamed, Head of Theater Arts Department, Mr. Abdul-Fadil Kamal, the theater supervisor, and Mr. Ahmed Adel, student supervisor.
