In the belief of Ain Shams University in the importance of integrating students with disabilities into the university community, preparing them and building their capabilities to become distinguished cadres. Disability is a joint cooperation protocol between the Center for Services for Students with Disabilities and the "Ataa" Charitable Investment Fund to support people with disabilities to provide scholarships to students and make university facilities available within the Faculties of Arts, Law, Computers and Science.
The protocol was signed by Prof. Abdel-Fattah Saud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Rana Al-Hilali, Executive Director of the Disability Service Center, Mr. Emad Ragheb, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the "Ataa" Charitable Investment Fund to Support People with Disabilities, Prof. Amira Al-Rifai, Executive Director of the Fund, Prof. Dr. Nagwa Badr, Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Raga Stouhi, Dean of the Facultyof Sciences, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Mortada, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Dr.. Hisham Temraz, Professor at the Facultyof Engineering, Prof. Dr. Jamal Hussein, Adviser to the President of the University for Engineering Affairs, Prof. Dr. Yasser Mugahed, Director of the Engineering Consulting Center, Prof. Mina Mikhail Abdel-Shaheed, Legal Counselor of the Fund and Mr. Nada Ibrahim, Fund Administrative Coordinator.
Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini confirmed during the meeting that Ain Shams University pays great attention to people of determination, pointing out that several days ago a vocational rehabilitation unit at the College of Graduate Studies for Childhood was opened to integrate children with special needs socially, which confirms the university's keenness to provide them with academic and scientific care.
The protocol aims to improve the quality of life for people of determination, to provide facilities, entrances and exits to colleges, and everything related to their university and academic education, to integrate them with their peers and fellow students, and to enable them in an effort to reach them with full rights and equal opportunities to be able to live independently, and that is also by financing and supporting targeted projects that It is submitted by associations and civil institutions with expertise in the fields of disability in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
It is worth noting that the availability project for the four colleges at Ain Shams University comes as a continuation of the project of sized chairs to provide the campus for students with mobility disabilities to ensure their ease of movement and enjoyment of independence. (15 electric chairs and 7 manual chairs).
