Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Muhammad Fathi Saud, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Education and Student Affairs, chaired the regular monthly session of the Sector Board, which started its work through video conference technology, in the presence and membership of the faculties' agents for education, students and Board members from abroad, and the session witnessed hosting a number of the faculty members and the assisting body at the Faculty of Computers and Information under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Nagwa Badr, Dean of the Faculty, in the presence of Prof. Hussam Fahim, Professor at the Department of Computer Systems in the Faculty, where the electronic control system included in the UMS (University Management System) was reviewed, which was launched and developed under the supervision of the Faculty of Computers and Information to keep pace with the current and future developments in the conditions of the global pandemic, and to ensure the highest standards of accuracy and speed in preparing and presenting results in a transparent and easy manner and in accordance with the nature of each academic system.
The safety factors of the system, the mechanisms of electronic review and correction, according to the regulations and how to calculate the GPA, were also reviewed, and the Board discussed the possibility of unifying a student code number that is listed on the system, as well as applying the rules of lifting and compassion through the electronic system of controls.
This came within the framework of the intensive preparations made by Ain Shams University prior to the holding of the first semester exams for the academic year 2020-2021.
This was directed by Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saud thanking the team of the Faculty of Computers and Information based on automating the university and preparing electronic controls, praising its efforts and accuracy of its achievement.
In the same context, the Board discussed the precautionary measures and measures that should be applied during the examination period to prevent Coronavirus. In order to preserve the safety of all students, and emphasis has been placed on sterilizing and disinfecting all buildings, university facilities, amphitheaters, halls, etc., in order to achieve the highest levels of safety, while applying social distancing and ensuring that there are no gatherings before or after exams, and verifying full commitment to wearing medical masks and measuring student temperatures Before entering the exams through heat detectors.
It has also been confirmed that there is a hotline that follows the General Administration of Medical Affairs, so that colleges can communicate quickly with specialist doctors centrally in case of emergency.
The Board also reviewed the sector’s efforts in the field of nutritional quality services provided to university students through the Food Safety and Health Committee, in order to ensure the health of all students.
Prof. Dr. Abdul Fattah Saud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, started the session by congratulating Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, on the occasion of the issuance of the Republican decision to assume his sovereignty this high position.
