Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, participated in the regular session of the Supreme Education and Student Council, through video conferencing, where the council appreciated the efforts of Ain Shams University in the field of literacy and the unprecedented success and achievement the university had achieved under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini. The council praised the role of the Education and Student Affairs Sector at Ain Shams University in this achievement, led by Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, and the Council thanked Prof. Dr. Nazmi Abdel Hamid, former Vice President of Ain Shams University for Community Service and Environmental Development.
During the session, Prof. Abd al-Fattah Saud, the reasons for the boom in the advancement of the literacy system and the university’s societal role in this regard as a national duty, as he explained that there are many factors that helped to achieve this achievement, foremost among which is the obligation for all undergraduate students to eradicate illiteracy by one student per academic year And considering this a prerequisite for obtaining a graduation certificate, in addition to providing material and moral incentives to all students concerned with literacy, in addition to the incentives provided by the Adult Education Authority, as well as the university's bearing of the expenses of students who carry out literacy 4 or more students per academic year, with full coordination between the sectors of education, students, community service and environmental development at the university in this project, in addition to the university student union launching an expanded campaign to introduce the initiative to all colleges and institutes of the university to organize a number of (online) courses, as well as listing all uneducated workers inside the university and the bodies cooperating with the university and register them and provide direct means of communication between them and the students to eliminate their illiteracy.
The council also approved the establishment of UNESCO clubs in universities, where a committee had been formed that included Prof. Abdel-Fattah Saud to define the mechanism for establishing UNESCO Clubs and to emphasize the dynamism of communication between the established UNESCO Clubs and the National Committee for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO-Alexo-ISESCO), with a real dynamic practical guarantee and a true expression of the values of society and the values of UNESCO.
In addition, a membership committee was formed by the membership of Abdel-Fattah Saoud to discuss motivating students to have artistic appreciation and music as an optional requirement for upgrading the general taste of students.
