Signing of an agreement to establish the Space Innovation Lab at Ain Shams University

Prof. Dr. Omar Al-Husseini, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Muhammed Al-Iraqi, Deputy of the Egyptian Space Agency, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Sakr, President of the Academy of Scientific Research, and Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Qousi, CEO of the Egyptian Space Agency.

Prof. Dr. Maged Ghanima, Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Ain Shams University, said that it was planned for a period of two years to launch the "space innovation laboratories" in partnership between the Egyptian Space Agency, the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, and the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Ain Shams University, iHub.

   
   

Ghanima said that the space innovation lab at Ain Shams University is the first of its kind at the level of Egyptian universities, which is to be established in 32 faculties in 27 universities in Egypt, explaining that through these labs, innovators in the field of space technology and applications will be encouraged, trained and supported. Through a variety of programs, courses, competitions, and practical exercises, as well as supporting multidisciplinary projects for students, researchers and startups.

The laboratory is supervised by Prof. Dr. Abdul Halim Zekry and Dr. Fatma Newigi, as well as supervising the "Space Innovation Labs" program, Prof. Mohamed Ibrahim at the Egyptian Space Agency and Prof. Dr. Maged Ghanima, Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (iHub) at Ain Shams University.
