A joint cooperation protocol between Ain Shams University and the Egyptian Space Agency

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Ain Shams University (iHub), Prof. Mohamed El-Qousi, CEO of the Egyptian Space Agency, signed a joint cooperation protocol, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saud, Vice President of the University for Affairs Education and students, Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Khaled Qadri, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, Prof. Dr. Najwa Badr, Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information, Prof. Dr. Omar Al-Husseini, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Diaa El-Din Khalil, Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Majed Ghanima, Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Weam Mahmoud, Deputy Director of the Innovation Center, Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim, director of the educational satellite labs project at the Egyptian Space Agency, Mr. Haya Alaa, the acting marketing and media coordinator.

The protocol includes designing an innovative program that includes an ideas competition, an incubator and a business accelerator to encourage and embrace innovators, entrepreneurs and emerging companies that use new and emerging technologies in the space field, whether at the local or regional level, and provide services to support innovation and technological applications and plans to support and develop modern technologies related to the activity of the Egyptian Space Agency. Or its expansionary future aspirations in addition to supporting both internal and external entrepreneurship.

         
   
         

The two parties will evaluate technologies, results, proposals and development projects in terms of their readiness for marketing and the possibility of developing them as projects that benefit the Egyptian Space Agency, in accordance with the agency's plans for expansion and investment.

The two parties choose what they see as transferable for an integrated project with a quality that allows it to be marketed in the Egyptian or international markets.

It is worth noting that the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Ain Shams University iHub is the official center for capacity building and entrepreneurship at the university, which works to reduce the gap between academic study and industry, since 2013 the Innovation Center offers a variety of non-traditional multidisciplinary programs that are designed to become Highly qualified graduates are ready to join the labor market, in addition to that, the center has a design house that includes a large group of specialists who have long industrial experience in designing, modeling and manufacturing electronic, mechanical and mechatronic products. The design house team has participated in the design and implementation of dozens of products for companies and a university research group Egyptian and international.

The Egyptian Space Agency, which is entrusted with setting the general strategy of the Egyptian state in the field of space science and technology, owning this technology, standing on the scientific, technological, research, industrial and human capabilities in this field, and supporting research, studies and educational programs in the field of space science and technology and encouraging the use of its results, as well as programs for developing uses And applications of space science and technology, and establishing an infrastructure for developing and manufacturing space systems.
