Ain Shams University participates remotely in the meeting of the Association of Arab Universities

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Tamer Al-Nady, a professor at the Faculty of Engineering, participated in the meeting of the Association of Arab Universities with the global courses platform “COURSERA”, through video conference technology.

The meeting discussed the digital transformation project between Egyptian universities and an experiment from a Moroccan university was presented.

The efforts of Ain Shams University for digital transformation were reviewed, as the university began ways of this file before the start of the Corona virus, and therefore Ain Shams University was one of the best Egyptian universities in dealing with this pandemic.

Among the projects currently existing within the university in this field:

Comprehensive development of the university's servers and the creation of a new data center.

Development of the ASU2LEARN e-learning platform

Begin to introduce some laboratories by default.

Availability of an anti-quote program for all university members.

Completion of the electronic examination platform.

Seriously begin digitizing all services for students.

On the other hand, the discussion tackled the skills that should be present in graduates and how the university was keen to change its regulations one by one to shift from the traditional education system to active learning.

It is worth noting that Ain Shams University has come a long way in negotiating with the courses platform “Coursera” to make all content available to students and professors of all faculties of Ain Shams University.
