The Office of the World Health Organization in the Arab Republic of Egypt, headed by Dr. Naima Hassan Al-Qusayr, sent a letter of thanks and appreciation to Ain Shams University headed by Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, on the occasion of the international accreditation of Ain Shams University Electronic Hospital by the American URAC, which is the most prominent organization for accrediting telemedicine services in the world.
Where the World Health Organization office expressed its pride and great gratitude for obtaining Ain Shams University Electronic Hospital, the international accreditation as the first non-American provider of telemedicine service to obtain this accreditation.
The letter included an emphasis on the leadership of the ancient Ain Shams University and its electronic hospital following international standards for providing this type of remote medical services and keeping pace with the international legislation and guidelines that maintain the quality of service, the safety of the patient and the privacy of his information, especially in light of the global Corona pandemic, which showed the urgent need for such These remote medical services.

On his part, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University affirmed the continuation of exerting all efforts and working on continuous development to continuously improve the level of health service provided to citizens. It is noteworthy that Ain Shams University established in 2016 the Ain Shams University electronic hospital unit in a prestigious gathering of the League of Arab States in the presence of 13 Arab and African countries under the slogan “teach and treat”, as the unit aims to provide technological solutions to improve specialized medical services, in addition to providing them to remote places He explained that one of the most distinguished of these services is the telemedicine service, which has been scientifically proven to save time, effort and cost, and to improve medical services and results for patients.
The Ain Shams Electronic Hospital unit also succeeded in providing health service remotely to nearly 15,000 patients from Egypt and 20 countries outside Egypt, and the service received patients of all ages suffering from various diseases such as chronic diseases and corona, and documented medical information was also provided.
The hospital also met with great demand in conjunction with the emergence of the global Corona pandemic, as the medical service was provided through specialized applications that allow sending messages and meeting the consultant with voice and image if necessary in many specialties, including (cardiology, orthopedics, urology, general surgery, brain and nerves, medicine.
