Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, witnessed the signing ceremony of an agreement between the Supreme Council of University Hospitals and the General Administration of Paris Hospitals, and this agreement is considered one of the fruits of the continuous efforts made by the Egyptian Cultural Office in Paris headed by Dr. To Paris from 19-22 May.
The agreement, which will last for three years, aims to provide additional training for Egyptian university hospital doctors through training in the hospitals of the General Administration of Paris Hospitals in the fields of (liver surgery, liver diseases, liver transplantation).
The agreement provides for the cooperation of the two sides to enhance the mobility of trainees wishing to develop skills and knowledge in the fields of (liver surgery, liver diseases, liver transplantation).
Hospitals affiliated with the General Administration of Paris Hospitals are obligated to provide the following different training:’
1. Assistant trainer every 6 months in the Department of Hepatology and Biliary Tract at Paul Bruce Hospital.
2. Observer trainee for a maximum of two months, unpaid, with a maximum of three trainees per year.
3. An unpaid trainee in clinical research every two years according to the research projects determined by the head of the department.
It is decided that the Department of International Relations will directly implement the internship agreements. The trainee will receive a training certificate from his training supervisor, and for the assistant trainee, he will receive a professional qualification certificate.
The Supreme Council of University Hospitals is committed to the following:
1. Suggest training candidates who have (B1) level in French for the observer trainer, and (B2) level in French for the assistant trainees.
2. Providing the International Relations Department at the General Administration of Paris Hospitals with a complete file for each observer trainee.
As for the assistant trainees, the files will be uploaded to (College de Medecine des Hopitaux de Paris) website before January 15 for the start of work at the beginning of November.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the Egyptian side by Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, Secretary of the Supreme Council of University Hospitals, and for the French side, Dr. Florence Weber, Director of International Relations at the General Administration of Paris Hospitals.
