The German Agency for International Cooperation, through the Agricultural Innovation Project, launched the Digital Agriculture Competition, in cooperation with the Arab Women Enterprise Fund, a development program that aims to empower women economically in partnership with the implementing strategic partner, the Center for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Creativity at Ain Shams University, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Dr. Hisham Tamraz, Vice President for Community and Environmental Affairs.
The competition aims to support and develop agricultural technology and entrepreneurship in Egypt to empower entrepreneurs, especially youth and women, by enabling them to establish, manage and operate companies based on innovation in the field of agricultural technology.
The project's main axes revolve around facilitating farmers' entry to the market, strengthening institutional support, and working on sustainable productivity and innovation. These axes are in the interest of the electronic market, guidance services, and the use of electronic services to acquire other electronic services such as (transportation - payments - and easy access to accounts) with a focus on empowering young people.
The competition also aims to support the growth of projects and encourage companies that have not yet started in the field of agricultural technology to succeed, as well as providing support to entrepreneurs with the aim of attracting small projects to the region and helping them succeed by providing them with funding up to 150,000 Egyptian pounds for 3 winners and qualifying them to incubate their projects for more Assistance and support in the areas of marketing, accounts, finance, management, government contracting, as well as technological support for the project life cycle, in addition to identifying and providing financial and economic support, incubating and accelerating the application of agricultural technology in various stages of development by providing it with practical guidance and direction and providing all assistance and support for small and developing projects, as well as supporting Research and development of technological initiatives for companies with a strong evaluation system for development activities on the ground, with similar programs in the Middle East and in Egypt in particular, a boom is expected in the field of agricultural technology, which of course will lead to rational and efficient use of water resources and increase the effectiveness of operations manufacturing and industrial and human resources; This will make Egypt a more attractive country for agricultural technology investment for small and medium-sized companies, which will have a clear impact on the Egyptian economy.
