Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, chaired the meeting of the Higher Committee for Respiratory Viruses, in the presence of Dr. Ashraf Hatem, Chairman of the Health Committee in the House of Representatives and member of the committee, and Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of University Hospitals, Major General Doctor / Khaled Amer, Head of the Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine Center in the Armed Forces.
The Minister praised the efforts made by the committee to confront COVID-19, praising the success in confronting the first and second waves of the Corona pandemic.
Dr. Abdul Ghaffar said that the number of people infected with corona is now decreasing, pointing to the low rate of those infected in university hospitals.
During the meeting, the committee recommended the establishment of a specialized clinic in university hospitals for post-coronavirus syndrome, which includes a number of medical specialties; to treat the psychological and medical effects of those recovering from the emerging corona virus, and it will be in all governorates of the Republic.
The committee also discussed the study conducted on the third wave of the emerging corona virus.
