The President of Ain Shams University meets the Burundian ambassador at the Zaafaran Palace

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Burundi to Cairo, Sheikh Rashid Malachi Nyiraghira, at the Zafaran Palace, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Hisham Temraz, Vice President of Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Omar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Chairman of the University Hospitals Board of Directors, Prof. Dr. Ali Al-Anwar, Executive Director of University Hospitals, and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Medhat, Consultant Pediatric Surgeon, Coordinator of the Pediatric Surgery Medical Team.

The meeting came within the framework of joint cooperation between the two sides, where the Burundian ambassador gave thanks and gratitude to Ain Shams University, headed by Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, and Ain Shams University Hospitals, for their efforts to treat and adopt the case of conjoined Burundian twins and bear all costs of operations, care and treatment by the university.

         
   
         

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini appreciates the Egyptian-African relations, stressing that Egypt is the beating heart of the African continent and that it spares no effort in extending a helping hand to its African brothers and playing its pivotal role in the African continent.

The Burundian ambassador also praised the high level of health care within Ain Shams University hospitals, the efficiency of medical and nursing staff, and the availability of the latest medical devices and systems that match the international level.

After the meeting at the Zafaran Palace, the Burundian ambassador, accompanied by the President of Ain Shams University, went to check on the condition of the Burundian twins at their residence in the university's guest house.
