During the ceremony of handing over the certificates of the first students of the distinguished programs at the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University at Al-Zafaran Palace, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Al-Metini, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President of Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Shahira Samir, Head of the International Cooperation Sector, and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Omar Al-Husseini, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Mostafa Refaat, Vice Dean of Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Mahmoud Khalil, Director of Programs at the Faculty.
Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, stressed the importance of the interdisciplinary programs in various specialties, and expressed his happiness and pride for the students of the Faculty of Engineering who obtained dual degrees from Ain Shams and East London Universities, and urged them to continue communicating with the faculty to learn about everything new and to benefit from their experiences in developing and updating Transfer the experiences to their faculties.
Prof. Dr. Omar Al-Husseini, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, explained that today witnessed the distribution of graduation certificates for the first batch of distinguished inter-programs in the Faculty of Engineering, which amount to 11 programs, pointing out that the faculty started with three specializations: environmental architecture, information systems and building engineering, until all the distinguished programs in the faculty became subject to the system Dual degrees between Ain Shams University and the University of East London, which is beneficial on two levels: the first is to follow modern teaching and training methods to keep pace with global changes in engineering sciences, as well as to benefit students wishing to complete postgraduate studies.
Prof. Dr. Mostafa Refaat, Vice Dean of Education and Student Affairs, explained that the agreement signed between Ain Shams and East London Universities provides for the granting of a bachelor’s degree from East London University in all disciplines to the distinguished interdisciplinary programs, and the Faculty of Engineering is committed to providing the agreed educational programs in accordance with the agreement to ensure the quality of the educational process and the services that complement the educational process provided. It is also committed to facilitating the procedures for registering students in the study programs offered by the university to ensure the preservation of student data, and conducting examination assessments for each program. It also grants students upon successful completion of each study program a degree and certificate from the English University, after a delegation from the University of East London visited the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University several months ago, and the visit included inspecting the educational infrastructure of the faculty, classrooms and halls, computer labs for the three departments, central laboratories and workshops, and the central library of the faculty.
He pointed out that the agreement was signed in 2018 under the auspices of Prof. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, where the Ministry of Higher Education hosted the protocol signing ceremony.
The students also reviewed their experience during the dual study between Ain Shams University and the University of East London.
