Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, honored the field hospital team of doctors, medical staff, nursing staff, technicians, administrators and workers, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Dr. Ashraf Omar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Chairman of the University Hospitals Board of Directors, Prof. Dr. Ali Al-Anwar, Executive Director of University Hospitals, Prof. Dr. Shahira Samir, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Dr. Osama Mansour, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, Prof. Dr. Heba Allah Al-Saeed, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Walid Abdullah, director of the field hospital, Prof. Dr. Samia Abdo, Director of Infection Control, Deputy Director of University Hospitals, Prof. Dr. Tarek Youssef, director of Demerdash Surgical Hospital, and a group of university hospital directors, doctors, administrators and workers.
During his speech, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, praised the efforts of the team responsible for the work inside the field hospital, stressing that the effort they made is a work of which we are all proud and a national duty in which we all worked hard, with love and sincerity.
He explained that the inauguration of the field hospital took place in just 15 days, during which Ain Shams University succeeded in implementing and equipping its field hospital, to confront the global Corona pandemic, to be the first hospital in the Middle East to provide this type of medical service efficiently and with international quality standards.
In June of last year, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Chairman of the Council of the Ministry, launched the signal to start work at the Ain Shams University field hospital, at a cost of 34 million pounds, and a capacity of 200 beds.
Ain Shams Field Hospital succeeded in providing distinguished medical service to the Egyptian citizen at the highest level of efficiency and readiness, free of charge and free of charge.
A medical service was provided to treat various pathological conditions, including receiving suspected cases of the emerging coronavirus, as well as providing full treatment in accordance with the approved protocols for treatment at the Ministry of Health.
The field hospital is located on an area of 4,600 square meters, with a total number of 200 beds, including 165 accommodation beds, 11 intensive care and isolation beds, 8 triage beds, and the remaining beds to serve medical staff and workers.
The hospital also included an intensive care unit to accommodate the frequent cases at the hospital, where the cases received monthly reached 300 cases, and we achieved high recovery rates.
During the celebration stressed Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini stressed the importance of receiving the vaccine and considering it an obligatory matter before the start of the study next October, after the decision issued by the university in this regard.
The ceremony witnessed the distribution of certificates of appreciation to the honorees and the exchange of memorial photos.
