Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Matini, President of Ain Shams University, met with His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Ammar bin Nasser Al-Mualla, the cultural attaché of the United Arab Emirates to Egypt, and the delegation accompanying him to discuss ways of cooperation between the two parties in the field of international cooperation and expatriate affairs.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President of Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Shahira Samir, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Executive Director of the International Relations Sector, Prof. Dr. Shirot Al-Ahmadi, director of the Expatriates Department.
The two parties reviewed means of cooperation between the two sides, and discussed how to overcome the challenges facing Emirati students studying at Ain Shams University, which includes more than 250 students from the sisterly Emirates.
Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Al-Matini indicated that academic exchange and international cooperation have become an unmistakable institutional framework, and His Excellency promised more cooperation, stressing that the meeting of young people and cultural communication is the greatest support for the advancement of the two countries and the maintenance of friendship between them.
For his part, Sheikh Dr. Ammar Al-Mualla valued the facilities provided to UAE students in most Egyptian universities, especially Ain Shams University, stressing the keenness of UAE students to benefit from the scientific development witnessed by Egyptian universities in many disciplines and fields, especially the medical field.
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President of Education and Student Affairs, emphasized the depth of the strong relations that bring together the two countries, noting that the university will spare no effort in meeting all the needs of international students and overcoming any obstacles they may face.
On the other hand, Prof. Dr. Shahira Samir said that cooperation and integration in transferring expertise in the field of national initiatives and dealing with the international student file will contribute to developing the quality of performance and improving international university rankings, especially when it enjoys the support of all national and political institutions in the country.
At the end of the meeting, which was dominated by a spirit of friendliness and cooperation, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Al-Metini and Sheikh Dr. Ammar bin Nasser exchange shields and souvenirs.
