September 20th ... The Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University launches its second development convoy in Rod Al-Farag district

The Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University is preparing to launch its second development convoy to eradicate illiteracy, in cooperation with the Presidency of Cairo Governorate, the Presidency of Rod Al-Farag District, the Faculty of Nursing, the General Authority for Adult Education, and the Egyptian Clothing Bank, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, Major General / Khaled Abdel Aal, Governor of Cairo, Prof. Dr. Hisham Temraz, Vice President of Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Prof. Dr. Sahar Moussa, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, and supervised by Prof. Dr. Youmna Safwat Vice Dean of Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Ashour Al-Omari, President of the General Authority for Adult Education, Dr. Islam Saeed, Director of the Adult Education Center at Ain Shams University, Dr. Nahid Raheel, Director of the Literacy Unit at the faculty, Mr. Suhail Hamza, Assistant Secretary General for Community Service Affairs environment development.

Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun, stated that the convoy will depart on Monday morning, 20 September from the university campus, heading to the Rod Al-Farag Culture Palace, after comprehensive coordination between the faculty administration, the Faculty of Nursing and the Cairo branch of the General Authority for Adult Education under Full supervision of the community service and environmental development sector at the university to follow up the progress of the convoy, moment by moment, as well as all the concerned authorities affiliated with the Cairo Governorate to secure the work of the convoy amid strict preventive measures that ensure the presentation of an honorable model of community service targeted by the fourth generation universities on Egyptian soil; according to international standards for the fourth generation of universities worldwide.

For her part, Prof. Dr. Youmna Safwat, Vice Dean of Community Service and Environmental Development, explained that the convoy is witnessing the participation of a number of civil society parties interested in raising the quality of life for citizens, led by the General Authority for Adult Education and the Egyptian Clothing Bank; Which provided a number of winter clothes that will be distributed to citizens, in addition to enlightening literacy work for citizens.

The campaign will witness the holding of a number of introductory lectures on the importance of eliminating illiteracy and achieving the maximum possible benefit from its services to citizens in a way that benefits the lives of the Egyptian citizen. As well as holding immediate exams for citizens wishing to obtain a literacy certificate. The convoy will also provide a blood pressure and sugar measurement service and health awareness for citizens.
