The Faculty of Graduate Studies for Childhood at Ain Shams University, in cooperation with the University’s Faculty of Medicine and the Egyptian Society for Mental Disorders and Child Care, organized the Fourth Comprehensive Scientific Conference on Mental Disorders in Children under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs. It comes on the occasion of the celebration of the World Mental Health Day, which falls on the tenth of October every year to raise awareness of mental health problems among individuals and the need to pay attention to them and provide treatment services for those who suffer from mental problems and disorders. And transforming these services into a reality for all,” especially after the events of the Corona pandemic.
The events are held under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Howayda Al-Gebali, Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies for Childhood, and Prof. Dr. Mona Al-Ganzouri, Head of the Department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, and professors of Pediatrics, Prof. Dr. Eman Zaki, Professor of Pediatrics at the Faculty of Medicine and Prof. Dr. Galila Mokhtar and Prof. Dr. Elham Hosny and Prof. Dr. Hyam Nazif, and Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Behairy, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, a group of professors from the three scientific departments (medical - psychological - media) and a group of pediatrics professors at the Faculty of Medicine.
Prof. Dr. Howayda Al-Gebali, Dean of the Faculty, said in her opening speech that the Faculty of Medicine, especially the Department of Pediatrics, represented by its professors, has the greatest merit in laying the first seed for the Department of Pediatric Medical Studies in the Faculty, and she commended the efforts of the pioneering professors from the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Graduate Studies for Childhood in the field and the participants in the conference activities.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Al-Behairi, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, stressed the importance of the topics and conference sessions that deal with the damages of means of communication and their negative aspects, which are a scourge that threatens society. for these means.
Dr. Iman Zaki gave a presentation entitled "The Media and Our Societies - Are They Our Key to a Magical World or a Disguised Nightmare?!"
She emphasized that man cannot live in isolation from technological progress, stressing that the aim of the conference is to know how to arm our children and children in order to deal with the means of technological progress and communicate in a positive way. Social communication also presented the positive effects of these means, such as cultural exchange and the exchange of positive social values.
