The Faculty of Archaeology in Ain Shams University announced the timetable for field training for 1st level students under the sponsorship of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Abd El-Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Learning and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Mamdouh El-Damati, the Faculty Dean.
Prof. Dr. Mamdouh El-Damati, the Faculty Dean stated that the field trainings and practical visits to museums, archaeological and heritage sites are part and parcel of the Faculty academic programs provided within institutional and academic frame. They mainly aim for the students to acquire a group of skills, and functional experiences related to labor market, and to connect the theoretical knowledge and practical application.
Prof. Dr.. Hossam Tantawi, Vice Dean for Learning and Student Affairs, confirmed the articles of the internal regulations of the Faculty of Archeology devoted Article No. Article (12) to field trainings and scientific visits, and it stipulates that field trainings and scientific visits (field hours) are obligatory and are an integral part of studying the courses of architecture, arts, museums, excavations, excavations and other courses.
His Excellency indicated that these trainings and visits are carried out in full coordination with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and after obtaining the necessary permits.
Dr. Iman Noseir Director of the Field and Practical Training Unit at the Faculty of Archeology, determined that trainings will begin on Sunday,7th November, by visiting the Pyramids area, followed by a visit to the Saqarah area and Mit Rahina on Sunday, November 14, according to the announced schedule for students of the ancient Egyptian archeology, Greek and Roman archeology, and Islamic archeology programs.
Students of the Archeology and Excavation Programs, Museums and Archaeological Sites Management will also visit the Pyramids of Giza on Thursday, November 1, followed by a visit to Saqqara and Mit Rahaina on Thursday, November 18.
