Faculty of Al-Alsun hosts British Council experts in a workshop to prepare for the IELTS test

The Faculty of Al-Alsun hosted the second IELTS preparation workshop, which was supervised by the University Scholarship Welfare Office in cooperation with the British Council in Cairo, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, and supervised by Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Attia, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, and Dr. Abdullah Sami, General Supervisor of the Scholarships Welfare Office at the university.

         
   
         

Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, indicated that the aim of the workshop is to qualify the faculty members of the university’s faculties and graduate students to pass the IELTS tests and to provide them with the opportunity to apply for various scholarship and scholarship programs within the framework of the university’s plan to increase the number of students on scholarships and members of the supporting staff in its faculties, in addition to expand the scientific missions of faculty members to foreign partner universities.

Prof. Dr. Ashraf Attia, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, pointed out, during the opening of the workshop, that the workshop included an explanation of the various sources that can be used in preparing for the test, provided specifically for Ain Shams University, and a presentation of preparation strategies that could help the examinees exploit their potential when performing The test with an explanation of the nature and duration of each of the four sections of the test, namely listening, reading, writing and speaking.

Practical exercises were also applied during the workshop using the accompanying scientific material that was distributed during the workshop to the participants. Abdullah Sami, General Supervisor of the Scholarships Welfare Office at the university, in his speech, the new work mechanisms launched by Ain Shams University through the Scholarships Care Office and facilitating procedures for faculty members, the supporting staff and students to communicate with the British Council to pass the qualifying exams for foreign missions according to a strategic plan from the university to raise the level of its internationalization globally, also review the services provided by the office before, during and after travel for researchers.

       
   
       

He also addressed the free services provided by the British Council to the students at Ain Shams University and university employees after opening channels of effective cooperation between the two sides and reviewed the preparation strategies that could help the examinees exploit their potential when performing the test with an explanation of the nature and duration of each of the four test sections, which is listening and reading, writing and speaking.

The workshop also was attended by Mr. Samer Fadel, Director of Business Development at the British Council, who introduced the IELTS test and reviewing cooperation programs with Ain Shams University.

Also, Mr. Osama Al-Baili, IELTS trainer and expert at the British Council, provided an explanation of the different resources that can be used in preparing for the test and presented preparation strategies that could help examinees use their potential when taking the test.
