Standards for setting study tests…a workshop at the Faculty of Archeology

As part of the Faculty of Archeology's preparation to start the mid-semester exams, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Eldamaty, Dean of the Faculty of Archeology, and Prof. Dr. Hossam Tantawy, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, the Measurement and Evaluation Unit organized a workshop entitled "Standards for Setting Academic Tests" in the presence of a group of faculty staff.

Dr. Ghada Fayed, unit manager, in the workshop, dealt with the specifications of a good test, the standards that must be met in academic tests, and how to formulate test vocabulary, in two sessions:

The first session dealt with: poor academic tests (by presenting two real-life stories), the difference between testing, measurement, assessment and evaluation, types of assessment, and characteristics of academic tests.

The second session dealt with: how to make the schedule of examination specifications, how to formulate test vocabulary.

The faculty staff were also trained on how to complete the exam paper form for the targeted teaching and learning outcomes of the course. The faculty staff participated in many activities during the workshop.
