A workshop of Anti-violence and Harassment Unit in the University City for Girls

The Anti-violence and Harassment Unit at Ain Shams University organized a workshop in the university city for girls to develop communication skills for specialists and supervisors in university cities on how to manage cases of violence, harassment and bullying, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, where the workshop comes within the framework of a series of workshops held by the unit to introduce its objectives and mechanisms and how to deter forms of violence, harassment and bullying at the university, under the supervision of Mr. Ibrahim Saeed, Director General of University Cities, and Ms. Magda, director of the university city for girls, in the presence of a group of consultants in the unit.

         
   
         

Prof. Dr. Hend Al-Hilali, Director of the Unit, explained during the introductory symposium that preceded the workshop, what the unit is, its objectives, activities, mechanisms and strategies for working in it, and how to transfer cases of harassment, violence and bullying from specialists in faculties, units and centers at the university to it and the role it plays, in addition to the services it provides.

       
   
       

Prof. Dr. Hend Al-Hilali indicated the role of the university in taking all measures and how to deal with cases that have been subjected to violence, bullying or harassment from the psychological and social aspect, and how these cases are transferred to the unit to take the necessary legal measures through the Legal Committee and the Psychological Support Committee as well as the Training and Capacity Development Committee and the Social Entrepreneurship Committee.

Where Prof. Dr. Amani, the clinical psychologist, performed practical training in the workshop for specialists and supervisors to learn how to manage the case and how to deal with it in terms of listening and psychological handling.
