Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Omar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board of Directors, and Prof. Dr. Shahera Samir, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, Director of the International Cooperation Office at Ain Shams University and Prof. Dr. Osama received Mansour, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, Prof. Heba Allah Saeed, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ali Al-Anwar, Executive Director of Ain Shams University Hospitals, and Prof. Tarek Youssef, Deputy Director of University Hospitals, received a delegation from the British GOSH Hospital, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Mona Al-Ganzouri, Head of the Pediatric Department at Ain Shams University Hospitals, and Prof. Dr. Yasmine Gamal, Director General of the Children's Hospital, a group of department heads and professors at the hospital, including Prof. Dr. Mustafa Hodhud and Prof. Dr. Hisham Awad, Prof. Dr. Hanan Ibrahim, Prof. Dr. Eman Ragab and Prof. Dr. Fatima Suleiman
The meeting comes within the framework of activating the partnership between Ain Shams University Hospitals and the British GOSH Hospital to exchange experiences and train doctors over a period of five years.
An agreement was signed earlier between Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) which is part of the UK National Health Service (NHS) and Ain Shams University Hospital, which is one of the largest medical educational institutions in Africa and the Middle East.
The contract between the two parties, which was implemented with funding from the Commercial International Bank Foundation, provides for the establishment of an ambitious five-year program between Gush and Ain Shams.
The two hospitals, working together to share experiences and promote development in critical healthcare functions, including intensive care, hematology and oncology, will develop and initiate a comprehensive clinical educational training program in these areas, and a key part of the partnership will be a visiting consultant program of GOSH advisors and other professionals in These specialties and a wide range of other clinical specialties visit Ain Shams University, allowing for the sharing of experiences and best practices, and the partnership will also provide an opportunity for medical observers from Ain Shams to visit GOSH in London.
