Within the framework of the activities of the cultural season of the Department of Philosophy and the interest in student service adopted by the Faculty of Girls, Ain Shams University, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Amira Youssef, Dean of the Faculty of Girls, and Prof. Dr. Heba Barakat, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Manal Rifai Muhammad, Head of the Department of Philosophy, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector, in cooperation with the Department of Philosophy, organized a symposium entitled (Health is medicine and philosophy is life)
The symposium discussed the meaning of medicine and health and the difference between them and their relationship to each other, the role of philosophy in understanding medical sciences and its applications, correcting misconceptions in the fields of medicine and health, and professional ethics in the field of medicine and medication.
The symposium also proposed many proposals, the most important of which are holding educational courses on first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation to cope with heart attacks, and for each student to have an emergency aid ID.
It is worth mentioning that the symposium was presented by Prof. Dr. Bahey El-Din Mohamed Morsi, consultant of accident and complementary surgery at the Ministry of Health, and Dr. Samia Abdel-Rahman, professor of contemporary philosophy and philosophy of values, due to the importance of linking philosophy with medicine.
