Under the auspices of Prof. D. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Omar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Hebatullah Al-saeed, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Shahera Samir, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, the Anti-Violence Against Women Unit at the university, organized an introductory symposium to educate male and female students and faculty staff about the unit’s work mechanisms and how to receive complaints.
Prof. Dr. Hebatullah Al-saeed opened the seminar by talking about the importance of the role played by the unit and what is the supportive role of the university for women and girls inside the university campus through the unit.
Prof. Dr. Hend Al-Hilali, Director of the Unit, referred to the service packages provided by the Unit through a selection of consultants in all fields, including psychological support, legal advice, family counseling, entrepreneurship, and the work of feasibility studies for small projects.
This was followed by a workshop on self-defense skills by Dr. Amani Abdel Aal Clinical Psychologist and Consultant Training Window and Art Therapy.
At the end of the symposium, Prof. Dr. Hend Al-Hilali, unit director of the new Student Union, presented them with a bouquet of flowers and souvenirs, especially the female students who won seats in the faculty union committees.
