December 18... Ain Shams University celebrates the International Day of the Arabic Language with various events and activities

On Saturday, December 18, the activities of Ain Shams University's celebration of the International Day of the Arabic Language, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, in partnership with the Arabic Language Academy and in cooperation with the Book Authority and the Culture Palaces Authority, the Opera House, the Artistic House of Folk and Performing Arts and the Artistic House of Theatre, with the participation of a distinguished elite of poets, writers and artists.

   
   

The celebration activities include honoring the winners of the university competition (professors - staff - students) in the fields of classical poetry - colloquial poetry - song lyrics - reciting poetry - short story - essay writing - script and dialogue - novel - playwriting, as well as honoring members of the linguistic complex For the Arabic language from university professors and some media gentlemen, and the celebration is presented by the great media man Gamal El-Shaer.

         
   
         

The day also includes poetic shows from a group of poets, including the great poet Dr. Ahmed Taymour, the great poet Gamal Bakheet and accompanied by artist Ahmed Al-Haggar (vocals), in addition to artistic performances for the university’s choir, and folk arts for the university team, including the Tanoura, Al-Asa’a and Nubian tabloids, religious chanting and hymns for the university team, a solo oud playing and a Tanoura show, as well as a home show, folk and performing arts, puppet theater presentation, in addition to a religious chanting by religious vocalist Ali El Helbawy.

The day will also witness holding a symposium entitled "Language in the Contemporary Arabic Novel" with the participation of the novelist Ahmed Al-Karmlawy, writer, journalist and novelist Mustafa Obeid, Dr. Rola Kharsa, and another symposium entitled "Prose Poem" by the poet Ibrahim Bagalati, with the participation of Prof. Dr. Gamal Niazi.

An exhibition of plastic arts for university students with a focus on Arabic calligraphy, a book fair in cooperation with the General Authority for Book and the General Authority for Culture Palaces, an exhibition of plastic arts for the Egyptian Opera House, a book fair for the Arabic Language Complex and an exhibition of plastic arts for professors and students of the Faculty of Specific Education at the university will also be held within the framework of the celebration.
