The Faculty of Nursing, Ain Shams University, organized a symposium on the occasion of the International Day of Challenge of Disability, entitled " We are able...despite disability" for people of determination and people with special abilities, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Dr. Sahar Moussa, Dean of the Faculty, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hayam Refaat, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, in the presence of faculty staff, the teaching assiatants, students and faculty staff.
Prof. Dr. Sahar Moussa said that the aim of holding this symposium is to support the largest number of people of determination and people with special abilities and to guarantee their rights, and to increase the awareness of our students by integrating them together, developing their skills, helping them in various fields, and providing them with all educational services, within the framework of the directives of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, by providing all services to them and obtaining all their rights.
The symposium discussed understanding autism spectrum disorder and the role of assistive technology, the role of social networking sites in health awareness for people with special needs, and the psychological and mental needs of children with special needs.
It is worth mentioning that, on the sidelines of the celebration, psychological counseling was held by Prof. Dr. Rania Abdel Hamid, Dr. Shaima Saeed Adam, during which they received many problems and inquiries for some cases of people with special needs.
