The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Support Unit (iHub), at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Ain Shams University, organized the second edition of the innovation competition “Al-Alsun innovate” (2022), under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Matini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Attia, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. M. Radwa Qteet, unit manager.
Many contestants participated in the three tracks; Innovative Ideas Track, Startups Track and Researchers Track.
The jury was formed, headed by Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun, and the membership of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Attia, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Youmna Safwat, Vice Dean for Environmental Affairs, Prof. Dr. Nasser Abdel Aal, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Behairy, head of the Center for Supporting Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Ain Shams University, and Dr. Menna Farouk, a graduate of the Faculty of Al-Alsun and an assistant teacher in the American University media, and one of the most important female entrepreneurs in Egypt.
The jury announced the winning of Dr. Samar Mounir, a teacher in the German Language Department, ranked first in the Ideas Track, about the idea of the “Mamayzoon” application project, which aims to provide all the services needed by those who care for children with determination in a sound, scientific and thoughtful manner, saving parents the trouble of searching for various medical services and centers Provide early intervention and other needs.
In the first place in the emerging projects track, Mayada Badawi, a graduate of the Japanese Language Department for her startup Kadol, an innovative and creative language learning center.
She also won first place in the research track, the assistant professor of the Italian language department, Dr. Reham Amer, for the ItalWordNet Project, a vocabulary network that monitors the semantic relationships between vocabulary and which are used in language computing applications in Arabic and Italian.
It is worth noting that the finalists received free workshops provided by experts from the Innovation Center in Presentation Skills and Pitching Skills - Business Model Canvas Design, in preparation for presenting their ideas before a jury comprising experts in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship.
The winners of the first places at the level of students, graduates and researchers will participate in the "Ain Shams Innovates" competition, where the winners will be awarded financial prizes.
