Within the framework of the initiative announced by Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research to support the scientific publication of Egyptian researchers and scientists, the Science, Technology and Innovation Financing Authority, in cooperation with the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, has implemented the first phase of this initiative in cooperation with the publisher Springer Nature to cover the cost of scientific publishing as of January 1, 2022 for magazines rated Q1, Q2 and part-time Q3.
The international publishing company Springer Nature has also agreed with Egypt to exempt Egyptian researchers from publishing fees.
It is worth mentioning that the scientific articles subject to agreement must be the corresponding author, the first author and the person responsible for communicating with the journal, holding the Egyptian nationality and working or studying in one of the Egyptian universities or research centers and having only one title, which is his university, single affiliation.
The authority will organize a number of introductory seminars for Egyptian universities and research centers, the first of which will be at Alexandria University on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at ten in the morning in the main conference hall of the Faculty of Medicine.
The upcoming seminars will be announced in universities and research centers, respectively.
The Science, Technology and Innovation Funding Authority (STDF) confirmed that this initiative includes all Egyptian universities, research centers and institutes, and scientific cities affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research or not affiliated with other ministries.
As for the list that has been shared, the Egyptian Knowledge Bank will modify and republish it.
