The particulars of the first days of Ain Shams University team's visit to EXPO 2020 Dubai

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Cooperation Sector, Ain Shams University continues its effective role and path towards supporting and strengthening student activities and building student personality Which comes within the framework of keeping pace with the Egyptian state’s constructive role in promoting mechanisms for sponsoring and supporting talented students; To build a generation of young cadres capable of making an innovative contribution to completing the sustainable development process of the country, exemplified by this support in light of the University Council’s decision regarding the University’s honoring outstanding students by nominating them from the university’s colleges to travel to the United Arab Emirates during the mid-year vacation for the academic year 2021 / 2022 AD, starting from February 13 until February 19, 2022 AD, in order to attend the Emirates International Expo held in the Emirate of Dubai, within the framework of the university's vision towards nurturing the talented.

         
   
         

Based on the university’s belief in the importance of providing all aspects of support and care to its outstanding and distinguished students, because they are the minds, talents, energies and capabilities to create the future in line with the state’s vision that the youth be a key participant in creating a better tomorrow that achieves sustainable economic, social and human development in future smart societies, as well as the university raises the cultural and scientific awareness of the student, prepares student cadres capable of taking responsibility, consolidates national awareness, refines students’ talents, develops their abilities and skills, and employs them for the benefit of the student, his educational institution and the nation.

EXPO 2020 is an important international platform for developing creative thinking, sustainability and entrepreneurship, enhancing youth skills, identifying future professions, as well as providing opportunities for exchanging contemporary ideas, and imagining the future through collective thinking, action and innovation, which will constitute a golden opportunity for students to contribute to building a more balanced world, transforming today’s dreams and aspirations for tomorrow’s reality, drawing the features of the future and unleashing the potential of talented youth.

The Ain Shams University team observed that the most important characteristic of this exhibition is its interest in innovation, sustainability and entrepreneurship, which are tools of the future labor market, and work to encourage them and learn about new ways of thinking in line with the developments taking place in the world in line with the state's vision towards sustainable development.

         
   
         

The exhibition represents a platform for exchanging knowledge and experiences by providing them with the opportunity to communicate with thought leaders and innovators in various fields through visits and field tours to the exhibition pavilions. The exhibition features a lot of events, lectures and workshops for students, which mainly aim to learn about the latest international technologies in the field of education, and to learn about modern scientific disciplines around the world.

The most prominent aspect that took place on the first days of the university team’s visit to the exhibition came to see the human and planet program, which aims to address the most important global challenges and opportunities in the world, and to visit several pavilions representing initiatives adopted by the exhibition. Recycling - without cement, and the Mobility Pavilion: which explores the movement of people, goods, ideas, data and human development until reaching the advanced innovations that have been reached, and the sustainability pavilion, which tells the story of humanity's relationship with nature and its impact on it, to be agents of positive change in the environment.

As well as visiting the Egypt Pavilion, where the ancient civilization of Egypt meets its vision of the future, and the Australia Pavilion, which has a cinematic experience called “Star Dreaming Gallery” ... that allows people to learn about astronomy, as well as visiting the pavilions of India, Brazil, Pakistan, Switzerland, Morocco, Colombia, Austria and Singapore, which reviews A complete experience of three-dimensional green spaces, the Emirates Pavilion, which aims to show Emirati culture and achievements, the Japan Pavilion and allows viewing of three-dimensional art installations, and the Saudi Pavilion, which is a unique architectural icon building in terms of design and innovation, and the design of the pavilion is based on the highest standards of environmental sustainability.

The team visited the Women’s Pavilion, which is very distinctive in its design, which aims to identify the pivotal role that women have played throughout history to this day and their positive contributions that prove that the prosperity of women is the prosperity of all humanity.

The team also visited the pavilion of the United Nations Forum UNHUB and identified its goals towards unleashing the potential of individuals, institutions and societies to bring about positive change for people and the planet as a whole.

   
   

In general, the exhibition reviews the most important catalysts for digital transformation in the region and the important role of technology in introducing unique digital technologies to various industries in the country, which is what the university is now pursuing in its strategy towards digital transformation and mechanization in all its work, and the team is still completing the activities of the visit to benefit from the latest science technologies and innovation showcased in the exhibition.

In this context, Ain Shams University extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to the UAE Ministry of Education and the Emirati side team, represented by representatives of the Youth Council of the Ministry of Education who accompanied university students during the first days of visiting the exhibition to learn about the most prominent and recent findings of science in various fields and various countries.
