Ain Shams University celebrates the anniversary of the victories of the tenth of Ramadan with a seminar on Immortal Championships

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, and Major General Ayman Naim, Director of the Nasser Higher Military Academy, witnessed the activities of the educational seminar organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at Ain Shams University within the framework of the university’s cultural and artistic season on the victories of the tenth of Ramadan entitled “Immortal Championships”, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Hisham Temraz, Vice President of Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President of Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President of Graduate Studies and Research, in the presence of a group of the heroes of the October War, military experts, students from various faculties, and a family for Central Egypt.

During the seminar, Major General Samir Farag, advisor to the Nasser Higher Military Academy, and Major General Ali Hefzy, advisor to the Nasser Higher Military Academy, gave a lecture, and the seminar was coordinated by Prof. Dr. Jihan Ragab, advisor to the Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and supervised by Mr. Suhail Hamza, the University’s Assistant Secretary for Community Service and Environmental Development, and a student organization for a family for Central Egypt.

In his speech during the symposium, Prof. Dr. Hisham Temraz, Vice President of Community Service and Environmental Development, praised the heroism and sacrifices made by the Egyptian army, stressing that the anniversary of the victories of the tenth of Ramadan, corresponding to the sixth of October 1973, will remain a source of pride for the Egyptian people, saluting the heroes of this country.

He added that the October victories were a restoration of dignity and the product of the will of a valiant army and an authentic people, as an epic in which the most wonderful tournaments were written, which confirms that the army is the shield of the nation, the bond and the one who assists all state agencies.

Prof. Dr. Hisham Temraz called on the students to show the spirit of the tenth of Ramadan in facing challenges, this victory that instilled hope in the souls and urged work and jihad and victory over challenges.

Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Graduate Studies and Research, emphasized in his speech that the university's role is not only education, research and innovation, but extends to all that meets the needs of society and shapes it for the better.

He added that we lived through the war of attrition and the October war, and witnessed the armed forces, talked with them, and learned how they were an impenetrable dam, and the people of Egypt, from professors and peasants, wrote the most wonderful epics.

During his speech, Major General Ayman Naeim Thabet, Greetings, Lieutenant-General Muhammad Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, and Lieutenant-General Osama Askar, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of War and Chairman of the Supreme Council of Nasser Higher Military Academy, he also offered congratulations on behalf of the Academy and all its affiliates on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, this holy month, on the tenth of which we celebrate the anniversary of a glorious victory, will remain a source of pride for the Egyptian people and their sons from the armed forces.

He also saluted the great October generation, who achieved glorious victory and restored the homeland's pride and dignity to the nation, through the greatest championships in the history of the Egyptian military.

Also, Major General Ayman Naeim expressed his happiness for his presence in Ain Shams University, describing it as one of the best Egyptian and Arab universities, as it is a platform for science, wisdom, knowledge and patriotism in Egypt and the Arab nation for seven decades.

He praised the role of the university in preparing distinguished cadres, in addition to its role in educating young people about the challenges facing the Egyptian and Arab national security in light of the plans being hatched and the current circumstances that Egypt is going through, in order to create generations armed with science, knowledge and self-confidence that illuminate the way in thought and knowledge to build the future of the country.

Major General Ali Hefzy gave his speech by presenting a brief biography of his career in the armed forces over a period of 45 years, referring to his service in Sinai, and his position during the October War, praising the heroism achieved by the October generation who served in Sinai during the war.

He stressed that the current period represents a new crossing that requires renewing confidence in ourselves, praising the heroes of the October War, who provided lessons that must be learned, represented in patience and readiness to face any difficulties, and that victory only comes with good planning.

He added that the heroes of the October War wrote, with the epic of war, an honorable history for future generations throughout the ages, and their heroism in restoring Egypt to its dignity, heroism and land.

Major General Samir Farag, a lecturer at the Nasser Higher Military Academy, dealt with what was reported by BBC radio about the 67 setback, which announced the destruction of Egyptian aviation in less than two hours, and the resulting occupation of the entire Sinai and part of the Golan Heights and the West Bank.

He stressed the Egyptian people's rejection of defeat and the transformation to overcome it and rebuild the army. In less than one month, an Egyptian company took the initiative to inflict heavy losses on the enemy in the Battle of Bab al-Esh, through the heroism of destroying the destroyer Eilat, adding that the October victory depended on the destruction of the Bar Lev line impregnable with water, and he praised Lieutenant-General Saad El-Din El-Shazly's plan to storm the line and choose the timing of the attack and the missile wall that secured the crossing.

He also reviewed the steps to implement the crossing, starting with the infantry divisions, where thousands of soldiers crossed in less than two hours, and then the missile wall that secured the passage of tanks and heavy weapons to the eastern bank to achieve victory.

At the conclusion of the symposium, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, presented the university’s shield to the distinguished military experts who lectured at the symposium, and Major General Ayman Naeim Thabet, Director of the Nasser Higher Military Academy, presented the academic shield to Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, and some of the attendees' inquiries about the 10th of Ramadan war were answered, and memorial photos were taken.
