Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Ain Shams University, receives the Russian cultural advisor in Cairo

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University, received Dr. Marat Gatin, Cultural Counselor and Director of Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Attia, Vice Dean of Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Nasr Al-Jabali, Head of the Russian Language Department at the faculty, within the framework of strengthening aspects of international cooperation between the two sides.

During her speech, Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, reviewed the history of the establishment of the Faculty by the venerable scholar Rifaa Al-Tahtawi in the early nineteenth century, leading to the establishment of the Department of Russian Language in the Faculty, which is one of the oldest departments of the Russian language at the level of Egyptian universities.

She continued her speech, pointing out that the Arabic language department for non-native speakers has been in the Arabic language department at the college since 1994, in which about 25 nationalities around the world have studied, and many human cadres have graduated from it working in various international forums.

         
   
         

She stressed that the faculty administration seeks to link study programs with the strategic goals of the state, so a department of the Russian language was established with a credit-hour system, a program in specialized translation, and she continued her talk, explaining that it was also our interest recently to integrate interdisciplinary and technology, which resulted in the establishment of a translation technology program for postgraduate studies, the first computer translation program.

She continued, stressing that we seek to internationalize study programs, scientific research and scientific journals, and to strengthen academic ties with various poles of the world to create effective communication channels at the university level aimed at sharing expertise and modern technologies in translation and research at the level of international universities to achieve maximum benefit and maximize the educational process, in addition to Inviting students from the world to study at the faculty as well, in order to internationalize the educational process, which is sought by the strategic plan of the Egyptian state and the university.

Marat Gatin, Cultural Counselor and Director of Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt, confirmed that the Russian side in Egypt seeks to achieve maximum benefit from the capabilities of the Al-Alsun Faculty at Ain Shams University, which is known worldwide, pointing out that he knows the capabilities of the Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University since his studies at Kazan State University in the Russian Federation, which a large number of its students studied in the Arabic language department at the Faculty of Al-Alsun during different years.

he added that the Russian cultural side in Cairo extends its hands with all its might to open aspects of fruitful cooperation with the faculty and to overcome any obstacles so that the chair of the Russian language in the faculty is one of the strongest educational chairs.

He stressed that Ain Shams University is one of the most important universities in the Middle East and the world, with its scientific and research capabilities that qualified it to be among the leading universities in the world.

         
   
         

He continued, stressing the need to activate the scientific exchange between Russian universities and the Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University, at the level of undergraduate and graduate students, as well as the exchange of professors.

In conclusion, Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, toured an inspection tour accompanied by Dr. Marat Gatin, Cultural Counselor and Director of Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Attia, Vice Dean of Graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Nasr Al-Jabali, Head of the Russian Language Department at the faculty, for the faculty laboratories, electronic examination halls and credit hour lecture halls, to find out the development of the integrated educational process means that the faculty has witnessed during the past few years.

Also, Dr. Marat Gatin, Cultural Counselor and Director of Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt, presented a number of books and scientific references as a gift from the Russian Cultural Center in Cairo to the faculty library.
