Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Omar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and Prof. Dr. Adel Mahmoud, Head of the Department of Rheumatology and Immunology, Faculty of Medicine, inaugurated the first conference of the Department of Rheumatology and Immunology, Ain Shams Medicine, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Samah Abdul Rahman Al-Bakri, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Conference, Prof. Dr. Dalia Fayez, Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Conference, and a group of specialized doctors from all over the Republic.

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Omar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, praised the role played by the Department of Rheumatology and Immunology in Ain Shams Medicine in serving patients. He also praised the scientific content of the conference, thanking the organizers of the conference.

On the other hand, Prof. Dr. Adel Mahmoud, Head of the Department, said that the two-day conference, with the participation of elite professors from various Egyptian universities, includes a set of scientific sessions and workshops, during which the latest methods of diagnosing and treating immune diseases are reviewed.

He pointed out that on the sidelines of the conference, workshops were held for young doctors to present methods of diagnosis and treatment for the most common rheumatic and immunological diseases.

Samah Abdel-Rahman Al-Bakri, Professor of Rheumatology and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Conference, added that the conference of the Department of Rheumatology in Ain Shams Medicine in its first session is witnessing a strong launch, as four workshops were held on the sidelines of the conference with the participation of specialized doctors from various universities and Egyptian and foreign speakers.

Dalia Fayez, head of the conference's practical committee, confirmed that the workshops dealt with the latest scientific methods and methods for diagnosing the most common immune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis and spondylolisthesis.

It is worth noting that the opening activities of the conference witnessed honoring a. Dr. Adel Mahmoud, head of the conference for each of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Omar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Fathi Tamara, Professor of Internal Medicine and Rheumatology, former Head of the Unit, and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Salah Abdel-Baqi, professor of internal medicine and rheumatology and former head of the unit, and an exhibition of pharmaceutical companies and medical companies in the field was held on the sidelines of the conference.
