Ain Shams University is organizing, within the framework of the cultural season, a seminar entitled “Culture of Difference and the Art of Dialogue” under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, will be held on Sunday, May 29, 2022 at 2:00 pm in the auditorium of Prof. El-Mahlawi at the Faculty of Medicine.

The seminar will be hosted by Dr. Shawki Allam, the Mufti of the Republic, the Prosecution of bishop Jeremiah, the general bishop and head of the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center at St. Mark's Cathedral in Abbasiya, and Mr. Abdel Latif Al-Manoub, editor-in-chief of Al-Masry Al-Youm newspaper.

Prof. Gehan Ragab, Advisor to the Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, explained that the topic of the symposium is related to confronting negative ideas and combating terrorism, in different cultures, and the art of dialogue and cooperation in an atmosphere of trust and understanding is the best guarantee for achieving peace and security. Dialogue between cultures also includes interfaith dialogue. With the aim of encouraging cultural pluralism and stimulating initiatives aimed at thwarting forms of extremism and intolerance, respect for diversity is a human right, and cultural dialogue and diversity contribute to human development and the establishment of real and sustainable peace.

Youth represent a fundamental pillar in developing and building society, and promoting the values ​​of tolerance. These values ​​represent the safety valve for all development and development efforts. Ain Shams University has paid special attention to its students and worked with them through various activities aimed at building their capabilities and enhancing their participation in public life to be agents of positive change. in their communities.

The seminar was coordinated by Prof. Dr. Gehan Ragab, Professor of Marketing at the Faculty of Commerce and advisor to the Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and student coordination, A Family for Central Egypt.
