Ain Shams University congratulates the international engineer Hani Azer on receiving the Order of Merit from the first class in Germany

Ain Shams University, headed by Prof. Dr. Abdel Wahab Ezzat, the President of the University, the Vice-Presidents of the University, faculty members, administrators and students, congratulates one of the sons of Ain Shams University. He is the Egyptian Engineer Dr. Hani Azar, Advisor to the President of the Republic on receiving the Order of Merit of the first class of the Federal Republic of Germany.

It is worth mentioning that Dr. Hani Azar, one of the sons of the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University, traveled to Germany to study civil engineering in the German city of Bochum, and then on a long scientific and professional journey until he headed the construction team of the Tiergarten tunnel under Berlin in 1994. He later became the chief engineer of the largest train station in Europe, the Larter Bannhof station in Berlin.

He was chosen as one of the 50 most famous figures in Germany after he built the Berlin Railway Station in 2006. He also participated in dozens of projects in Germany. He was associated with dozens of tunnels and projects around the world, becoming the most famous tunnel expert in the world.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel honored him in 2006 for the opening of the Berlin Railway Station for his efforts in Germany's service to the German Republic. His Excellency also contributed to supervising the implementation of Suez Canal tunnels.

Ain Shams University honored the international engineer Hani Azer by granting him the honorary doctorate degree in 2018 at the annual scientific conference, in order to honor the sons of prominent scientists in the various fields who have influenced the scientific and practical life of their achievements that became international.
