September 21…Climate Change Conference and Green Universities Agenda at the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research

The Faculty of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research at Ain Shams University is organizing the Climate Change Conference and the Green Universities Agenda, in light of the preparations for the COP27 Climate Conference. The conference will be held online from 21-23 September 2022, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Saleh, Vice President of Graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Dr. Hisham Temraz, Vice President of Community Affairs and Environmental Service, the conference is headed by Prof. Dr. Noha Samir Donia, Dean of the Faculty, with the participation of Prof. Dr. Reham Refaat Mohamed, Vice Dean of Graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Dr. Hala Awadallah, Vice Dean of Community Service and Environmental Development.

In this regard, Prof. Dr. Reham Refaat Mohamed, Vice Dean of Graduate Studies and Research, pointed out that in the context of Egypt’s hosting of the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Climate Change COP 27, the National Climate Change Strategy in Egypt 2050, and the Faculty’s Research Plan 2018-2023, universities have a vital role in addressing Community problems, and environmental problems are on the list, including the problem of climate change, and this is what prompts universities to activate their roles to enhance understanding of how different sciences and studies can face the repercussions of climate change in light of the three functions of the university (education and labor market), (scientific research) and ( community service and environmental development).

The conference will focus on the following topics:
