The Faculty of Archeology, Ain Shams University, celebrated the new students coming to its corridors, by holding a welcome meeting for first-year students at the Faculty of Archeology, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University; and Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President of Education and Student Affairs; Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hussam Tantawy, acting dean of the faculty and its vice dean of education and student affairs; A desire to clarify the various faculty units and their important role in helping students, the most important questions that revolve in the students' minds were answered during the meeting and bridges of communication were opened.
Prof. Dr. Hossam Tantawi stressed that the student is the center of the educational process and that the faculty's first goal is to raise the educational level of students. He also urged them to participate in the faculty's various activities because of their importance in refining the student's personality.
Then the unit managers gave a welcome speech to the students and presented a brief overview of each unit, its tasks and how to benefit from them.
Dr. Nora Muhammad Hussein, Director of the Information Technology Unit, started her speech by welcoming the new students, wishing them a successful and happy academic year. Then she introduced the students to the services provided by the unit, starting with receiving their files, entering their data on UMS, and creating accounts for them on The platform that will allow them to provide various services such as paying fees, services, academic guidance and exam results. It also clarified the unit's role in creating university emails for students to take advantage of the various advantages that the official email provides.
Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim, Director of the E-Learning Unit, gave a brief explanation of LMS, and how to enter the platform, access the e-book, lectures, and everything related to each of the academic courses and the advantages provided by the platform in dealing between the subject’s professor and the student.
Dr. Mohamed Abdel Salam, a teacher at the Department of Museums and Archaeological Sites, on behalf of Prof. Dr. Nawal Jaber, Director of the Academic Advising Unit, during the activities of the welcome meeting for new students, clarified and clarified the effective role of the Academic Guidance Unit at the faculty , and what it does to achieve the highest levels of academic efficiency for students and help them choose courses and other aspects of choice entrusted to students to differentiate between them to achieve full proficiency On their scientific journey between the Faculty of Archeology
Dr. Iman Naseer talked about the field and practical training unit, its vision and goal, the types of training, and how assessments are conducted for students at the time of field training, and an overview of the unit’s achievements in the previous year over the course of the academic year and summer training
Dr. Rania Zeidan, Director of the Quality Assurance Unit, welcomed the new students, and stressed that the faculty's vision and mission are focused on achieving leadership and excellence for the faculty, and that the implementation of the quality system in the faculty guarantees quality and excellence, so the Quality Assurance Unit has taken its slogan, which is quality, development and sustainability, everyone must joins hands to achieve this end.
She added that the Faculty of Archeology is distinguished by the establishment of new departments and programs that meet the needs of the labor market.
Then Dr. Ghada Fayed, Director of the Measurement and Evaluation Unit, introduced the new students to the Unit of Measurement and Evaluation, its objectives and tasks.
In addition to clarifying the criteria followed by the Faculty of Archeology in setting academic exams, noting that the faculty will start this year to activate question banks and electronic correction of exams to ensure fairness and transparency.
As the director of the Literacy and Adult Education Unit, she introduces the literacy project and the services provided by the Literacy and Adult Education Unit to facilitate students to achieve the graduation requirement, including providing a guide on the faculty website, the necessary books and test forms in pdf format, and publishing the addresses of the main departments and the minor, and the procedures required to open the literacy class, and her Excellency asked a number of common questions and their answers about literacy as a requirement for graduation, and ended her speech by honoring the student / Youssef Osama Mohamed Salem for being the first student to complete the literacy requirement in the faculty by giving him a certificate of appreciation and a financial reward of A thousand pounds provided by the Literacy and Adult Education Unit at the Faculty of Archeology, Ain Shams University.
