The Faculty of Nursing at Ain Shams University organized a symposium entitled "Climate changes ... the carbon footprint ... the university's efforts to transform into a green university" under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk, Acting Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Sahar Moussa, Dean of the Faculty, and supervised by Prof. Hiam Refaat, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, in the presence of faculty members, the supporting body and students of the Faculty, Dr. Amal Thabet, lecturer of entomology, Faculty of Environmental Studies and Research, Ain Shams University, attended the symposium
Prof. Dr. Sahar Moussa indicated that the symposium comes within the efforts of Ain Shams University headed by Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini in this field within the framework of sustainable development and Egypt’s vision 2030 and comes in conjunction with Egypt’s preparation to host the World Summit on Climate Change “COP 27” from 6 to 18 November in Sharm El-Sheikh Governorate.
Dr. Amal Thabet explained a definition of the environment and its aspects, and also presented a definition of the concept of climate change, the carbon footprint, and the reasons for the emergence and increase of carbon emissions and greenhouse gases that led to the formation of a layer of gases outside and inside the atmosphere, which resulted in a rise in the temperature of the planet What are the measures to adapt and mitigate the effects of climate change?
