Climate change, the carbon footprint, and the university's efforts to transform into a green university... A symposium at the Faculty of Business

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Matini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Khaled Kadry, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, the faculty organized a symposium entitled “Climate Changes and the Carbon Footprint and the University’s Efforts to Transform into a Green University, within the framework of the service and development role of the Faculty of Commerce, Ain Shams University, and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Khaled Kadry, Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Hiam Wahba.. Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Mamdouh Abdel-Alim, Director of New Programs at the Faculty, and Dr. Noha Yahya, lecturer in the Economics Department of the Faculty and a member of the Center of Excellence for Sustainability, Ain Shams University, and many faculty members attended the symposium And the supporting body, students in different teams, and faculty employees.

   
   

The seminar was opened by A. Dr.. Khaled Qadri, Dean of the Faculty, welcomes the members of the platform and all the students of the faculty, especially the new students, wishing them a successful academic year, God willing. Then, His Excellency noted that this symposium comes within the framework of the state’s efforts to support the locomotive of sustainable development, and that this year the Arab Republic of Egypt will host the United Nations Conference Climate Change 2022 also known as COP27, which is the twenty-seventh United Nations Conference on Climate Change, which will be held, God willing, during the month of November 2022 in Sharm El-Sheikh, and that the state is concerned with hosting and chairing this conference, and for this the state saw that the role of Egyptian institutions is very important in raising awareness and setting Suggestions to support this conference, and His Excellency noted that the benefits of hosting this conference in Egypt at the internal level are (tourism - social - industrial support - and attract investments). It comes within the strategic plan of Ain Shams University towards transforming into a green university, achieving sustainable development goals, and Egypt's Vision 2030.

The symposium received a great turnout from the faculty and staff of the faculty, and a large crowd of students from different teams and people were keen to attend the symposium and interacted with it with distinctive questions that revolved around the title of the symposium and how to achieve solutions to reduce the carbon footprint in light of the industrial challenges in the world.
