In memory of the victory of the glorious October War, the Faculty of Science at Ain Shams University held a symposium entitled "October Victory... Crossing to the Future" under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University, headed by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ragaa Al-Sutuhi, Dean of the Faculty, under the supervision and presence of Prof. Dr. Amani Suleiman, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and a. Dr. Eman Abdel Azim, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs.
The symposium witnessed a great turnout from students, faculty and administrators.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ragaa Al-Sutuhi, Dean of the Faculty, said during his opening speech that students should learn from the lessons of the October War. He who does not glorify his past will not be able to glorify his future, pointing out that the lessons learned from this war are not limited to the generation that achieved victory only, but that it will remain a history from which all generations learn from. Ages passed.
Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahman Badr Al-Din Abdul Ghaffar, Professor of Biochemistry at the Facuty and Director of the Central Laboratory, Dr. Islam Saad Adly, a lecturer in the Department of Entomology and coordinator of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit at the faculty presented a lecture.

Abdul Rahman Badr Al-Din Abdul Ghaffar discussed some of the heroism of the Egyptian pilots, which was evidence of the valor of the Egyptian Air Force and the commando operations carried out by these pilots in the face of the Israeli enemy, such as the pilot “Farouk Alish” and the martyr pilot “Tariq Ezz Al-Arab”, who achieved victories that are difficult to believe, which raised fear among Enemy ranks, introduced a. Dr.. Abdel Rahman clips from the October victory speech to the late President Anwar Sadat.
Dr. started Islam Adly gave his speech by emphasizing that this war the whole world stood by in respect of it. Islam Some documented information about the October War, its location, its sides, and some of the leaders who participated in it.
He continued by talking about the factors that led to the occurrence of the war, how the period of no peace and no war was from 1967 to 1973, and how both Egypt and Syria wanted to liberate their occupied lands at the time.
He also reviewed some of the facts of the war and how the Egyptian army was able to penetrate 20 kilometers east of the canal and cross 60 thousand Egyptian soldiers on the first night of the war, then spoke about the size of the enemy's losses and how the enemy felt the evils of defeat.
Dr. Islam showed the audience pictures showing some of the facts of the battle and pictures of victory and raising the Egyptian flag over Sinai.
Also he concluded his speech during the events with thanks, gratitude and appreciation to the Egyptian Armed Forces and to the martyrs and heroes of the glorious October War.
At the conclusion of today's activities, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ragaa, Dean of the Faculty, commented that there are still many stories of heroism that the Egyptian people did not know, and that the annual celebration of the anniversary of the October War will reveal these stories.
