Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteiti, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Facult, Prof. Dr. Nasser Abdel Aal, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Al-Saghir, Head of the Spanish Language Department at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, the Faculty of Spanish Language organized an introductory meeting for students of the specialized translation program, the credit-hour system, first year.
This was welcomed by Prof. Dr. Shaima Radwan, on behalf of the department head and program coordinator for the new students, pointed out the importance of studying the Spanish language and translation in particular, and the distinguished relations between Egypt, Spain and Latin American countries. Language and literature subjects, and she also talked about the importance of the student’s dependence heavily on self-education and the development of his skills and knowledge in various fields to form a qualified professional translator for the labor market.
Prof. Dr. Nirvana Asaad, Professor of Literature talked about the importance of the Spanish language and culture and the necessity of informing the student and his knowledge of the culture of the language he is studying. She also talked about academic advising and the role of the academic advisor and his communication with students.
Dr. Yomna Azmy, assistant professor in the department, emphasized the importance of student activities and how to help the student to discover and develop their various skills. She also shed light on the activities carried out by the department throughout the academic year, especially with regard to partnership with Latin American embassies in addition to the cultural day, and indicated the necessity of Communication with the Spanish Cultural Center.
Prof. Dr. Marwa Mustafa, Professor of Linguistics, indicated the importance of the Spanish language and the need for students to develop their skills and keep them informed. She also spoke about the establishment of the department and the concept of quality culture, and the need to inform the student about the program’s list, the student’s rights and duties, the services provided by the college, and ways to communicate with the department and college administration.
Dr. Osama Ramadan, teaching assistant in the department, stressed the importance of questionnaires, the necessity of student participation, and the importance of his proposals.
Dr. Mai Amr, teaching assistant in the department, spoke about the field training and its importance for the student in terms of the weight of his skills and special requirements.
Dr. Damiana Sorour, a lecturer in the department, emphasized the importance of the platform and the various means of communication with students, especially through the program's official page on Facebook.
Finally, the professors urged students to attend lectures and encourage them to keep in touch with them to answer any questions or inquiries.
