With the support of the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), and under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, and under the general supervision of Prof. Dr. Khaled Qadri, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, Prof. Dr. Hiam Wahba, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Cooperation Sector at Ain Shams University, the Faculty of Commerce organized on Monday, November 7, an introductory seminar on the training programs offered by the European Investment Bank and the Union for the Mediterranean, which target students in the fields of investment, finance, and economics from master's students and students of the fourth year of the Faculty.
Prof. Dr. Khaled Qadri, Dean of the Faculty, confirmed the effective role of this training course in refining the skills of learners in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship, stressing that the Faculty is working to expand the provision of such training courses and places them among its priorities in the next stage.
During his speech, Prof. Dr. Khaled Qadri thanked the university administration for providing continuous support to all members of the university community, especially students, and preparing them to be future leaders.
And for the representatives of the European Investment Bank, Prof. Dr. Hiam Wehbe said that this seminar was attended by Mr. Giuseppe Provenzano, Project Manager of Higher Education and Research Union for the Mediterranean Foundation, Mr. Fulceri Bruni Roccia, Head of the EIB Knowledge Program, and Ms. Flavia Palanza, Senior Adviser at the European Investment Bank, where they talked about the training courses offered and their importance in qualifying The students worked in the fields of entrepreneurship and small projects. They also clarified the role of the European Investment Bank in financing innovation-related projects and the areas of application of these projects. They also shed light on the most important standards and skills required.
As Prof. Dr. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations Sector at the university explained that preparations for this cooperation have been underway since last July, through a series of preparatory meetings through video conferencing, headed by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, in preparation for the meeting that took place at the Faculty of Commerce before the symposium to discuss ways of joint cooperation.
Prof. Dr. Hiam Wehbe also added that the training courses will start during the first week of March 2023 and end with the trainees giving a presentation in front of the trainers from the representatives of the Union for the Mediterranean and the European Investment Bank.
It is worth mentioning that the symposium was attended by a group of Faculty professors and students of graduate programs, professional certificates, study programs in English, and credit hours in the final year.
