Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Amira Youssef, Dean of the Faculty of Girls, and Prof. Dr. Mai Helmy, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, under the coordination and supervision of Dr. Islam Adly, Student Activities Officer At the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Ain Shams University, Dr. Aya Radi, Director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit at the faculty, and Prof. Samar Medhat, iclub project manager at the Innovation Center organized i-club students, under the supervision of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit at the Faculty, the activities of the start of the new season of club activities 2022-2023.
The events included a range of recreational activities, competitions, and games to welcome first-year students of the Faculty of Girls.
The events began in the pergola, followed by a number of sessions in the conference hall, which began with a brief presentation on the activities of iclub and the Entrepreneurship Unit at the Faculty, followed by a lecture on design thinking and an introductory session from Banque Misr on supporting emerging projects, and ended with an introductory session on iclub activity at the university level and ways to benefit from it and participation, in addition to words from Inspirational models from Faculty students who shared their ideas for the unit's activities.
Prof. Dr. Amira Youssef, Dean of the Faculty of Girls, participated in the activities and praised the role of unity in new innovations and that it ends unilateral and superficial thought and encourages innovation and development, calling on students to work as a team and not cling to individual ideas.
She honored the students who achieved advanced positions in the (i-challenge) competition, the student Shaima Sayed, a student of the fourth level, in the Physics and Chemistry program, and with her team, designed an application dedicated to helping children with Down syndrome and won first place in the software track for people with special needs, and the student Shorouk Lotfi, the student of the second level, in the program Physics, designed vertical wind turbine to reduce the use of electricity and rely on clean energy, and it reached the semi-finals of the Ain Shams Innovates competition.
Her Excellency also honored a number of female students participating in iclub in the previous two years, and female students participating in the innovations exhibition held on the sidelines of the Ain Shams Innovates 2022 competition.
And in recognition of the efforts of the faculty staff who support innovation activities, Her Excellency honored Dr. Atef Maharik, Dr. Hana Hilal, and Dr. Najwa Azzam for their participation in the academic lectures for the software track for people with special needs in the i-challenge competition.
