The Graduate Follow-up Unit at the Faculty of Arts at Ain Shams University organized a free workshop entitled: "Translation Skills from Turkish into Arabic" for students of the Department of Oriental Languages and Literature, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Hanan Kamel, Acting Dean of the Faculty, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rasha Al-Didi, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Eman Taha, director of the graduate follow-up unit at the faculty, and coordinator of the Ain Shams University Alumni Association of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Hamed, Head of the Department of Oriental Languages and Literature, and the workshop was presented by Dr. Khaled Salem Professor of Turkish Language and Literature.
This comes within the framework of the Faculty of Arts’ endeavor to qualify graduates free of charge, in all departments of the Faculty, to qualify them for the labor market, which requires mastery of different languages and proficiency in translation from different languages into Arabic and vice versa in the context of the expansion of scientific and cultural exchange at all levels.
The themes of the workshop included the difference between written and oral translation, types of translation, the skills that a translator must have, notes that must be available in successive translation, modern translation tools, and mechanisms for using electronic translation websites.
