Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin, the climate pioneer for the Egyptian presidency of the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Convention on Climate Change and the United Nations Special Envoy for Financing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and Major General Khaled Fouda, Governor of South Sinai, inspected the pavilion of Ain Shams University participating in the Green Creativity Exhibition of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research within the activities of the conference (COP27 Climate Summit), where they listened to a detailed explanation from Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi, Director of the Center of Excellence for Sustainability at the university, about the most prominent achievements and efforts of Ain Shams University in the field of green transformation, as well as learning about the ASU wind turbine, which was invented by students of the Faculty of Engineering, which won first place in the world in major international competitions and is 100% Egyptian.
They followed a documentary film that monitors the efforts of Ain Shams University and the research and applied projects it implemented in implementation of the fifth goal of the Egyptian National Strategy for Climate Change 2050, which focuses on promoting scientific research, knowledge management and technology transfer to mitigate the effects of climate change.
Ain Shams University continues its participation in the Climate Summit amid a heavy international presence from various countries of the world.
